Yadier Molina
Yadier Molina is thought of as a role model by many people. Many times after receiving the "player of the game" title, he says something like "we all played great as a team". He won't take credit for all of it, and he definitely doesn't let it get to his head. His ego isn't as big as some Major League Baseball players, I know. While palying in a game, he always thinks about his teammates, especially his pitcher. He always wants to find a way to get another out so his pitcher doesn't have to work so hard. His actions haven't always been "acceptable" to MLB's rules, but he normally isn't one to get upset or mad, and do something dumb without reason. And his looks, oh my goodness, he's the most adorable baseball player alive! He's got the cutest smile. And this is my character sketch.
Daruis & The Clouds
You can never have too much love. You can fall asleep and wake up drunk on love, and love can keep you safe when you are sad. Here there is too much sadness and not enough love. Boyfriends too are few and so are Romeo's and most things that are beautiful. Still, we take what we can get and make the best of it.
Shawn, who doesn't like school, who is sometimes stupid and mostly a doof, said something wise today, though most days he says nothing. Shawn, who chases me with bear hugs or sweeps me off my feet, today pointed out that the world was full of hearts. The perfect ones.
You all see those hearts, those perfect ones there? Shawn said, See that? Where? The heart next to the one that looks like you?
That one there, see that. That's me, Shawn said. You? I asked. Me, he said, and made it simple that he was right next to me.

Those Who Don't
Those who don't know any better come into our neighborhood with quizical looks. They think we're all bad influences. They think we know nothing more than cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. They are stupid people who jump to conclusion for no reason.
But we aren't mad. We know the people who do drugs, drink, and smoke, they're the people just up the street from us. Everyone else in our small town knows to avoid them.
All white all around, we are safe. But watch us drive into a neighborhood of gang and violence and our hearts start beating faster and faster and our car doors get locked immediately, as our eyes are filled with terror. Yea. That is how it goes and goes.

I Ain't Got No Culture
I can see why she would envy her friend. If you go over to a friends house and everything is planned out, and always in routine with that family as a whole, you can feel like an outcast. I know my family isn't always in to getting together for huge get togethers, so I envy my friends when they always have someone, from their family, that's having a party they can go to. I can also see how her friends would be jealous of her, because she gets to date whoever she wants. She also should be thankful for the fact that she doesn't have to eat just cabbage or ham all the time. Most of us like a wider variety than just that. All in all, I think she should just be happy with who she is, because there's only one of her, and she can't change her background.
Yo, Hollywood! Where Are The Latinos At?
This article really made me think when I read it. I did not like the fact that she kept thinking that only latinos should play latino parts. I strongly disagree with what she said, mainly because I have not seen or read any of the books she was referencing. The main reason I disagree though, is because I am almost positive that it is up to the directors and the producers to choose who they want to cast. Just because the book was based out of Chile, does not mean anything. Most of the time when movies are made about books, they do not follow the same structure anyways, so I do not see why she is making such a fuss about it.
